Zayn’s ex breaks down: Zayn Malik Edwards Breaks Down The End, Zayn Malik’s former fiancee has burst into tears on stage during a performance with her band Little Mix.
Perrie Edwards, who split with the former One Direction member this month, was performing the group’s latest single, The End, when she was overcome with emotion.
The 22-year-old burst into tears after singing the line, “No one can love you, the way I used to do.”
Edwards’ fellow band members, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, quickly gathered around her, while members of the audience yelled: “We love you, Perrie.”
“It’s been a long day and we’ve had no sleep,” Nelson told the crowd. “We’re just very emotional today.”
“But, yeah. That was the end,” Pinnock added, jokingly referencing the song’s title.
Little Mix are in the US promoting Black Magic, the debut single off their third album, Get Weird.
The breakdown occurred during a global live-streaming concert hosted by the band to celebrate their fourth birthday.
Earlier in the day, Edwards had seemed happy as she performed with Little Mix at an outdoor concert organised by US morning show Today.
While Edwards and Malik are yet to officially confirm their separation, Edwards has responded to questions about the split.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show on Monday, Edwards spoke briefly to host James Corden? about what he termed “a tough few weeks”.
“I’m good things are going so well. I just wake up every day and I thank my lucky stars I have these three girls,” she said.
“They’ve really got you through this, right?” Corden asked. “They’ve got you through everything?”
“100 per cent,” she replied.
