World’s Richest Woman
World’s Richest Woman, An Australian mining magnate has been named the richest woman in the world, with a reported wealth of £18 billion.
Gina Rinehart is now said to be worth 29 billion Australian dollars after she boosted her fortune by A$19 billion (£12 billion) in just a year.
She was named the world’s richest woman in business magazine BRW’s annual rich list.
However, Ms Rinehart remains a controversial figure in Australia having become locked in a bitter showdown with her siblings who want her name scrubbed off paperwork that names her as a trustee of a family trust.
Rinehart’s father Lang Hanc**k, a pioneer miner credited with opening up the dry and sparsely populated Pilbara iron ore region in Australia’s Outback in the middle of the last century, schooled her in mining from a young age, crisscrossing the vast area in small aircraft.
But three of her children John Hanc**k, Hope Welker and Bianca Rinehart – launched a claim last September alleging serious misconduct in dealing with the trust by changing the vesting date without their approval, pressuring them to accept changes in operations and not providing them with information they sought.
