The Boss’ 2016 tour: Bruce Springsteen 2016 Tour

The Boss’ 2016 tour: Bruce Springsteen 2016 Tour, The clamors of his fan base can finally cool – Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are heading back out on tour.
The Boss and his famed backing crew will embark on a 24-date, 2016 winter tour, beginning Jan. 16 in Pittsburgh, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of his revered 1980 double album “The River.”
The tour will rock Prudential Center in Newark Jan. 31, the venue announced Friday. Before that, Bruce will hit Madison Square Garden Jan. 24 and 27. A show at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia is also scheduled, for Feb. 12. A full list of tour dates is posted below.
Tickets, which will surely sell out and have been notoriously difficult to secure in the past, go on sale Dec. 11 at 10 a.m.
Bruce’s last full-fledged, Garden State arena gigs were three nights at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, during the Wrecking Ball tour in September 2012. The roadshow also hit Prudential Center in May 2012.
He’s played several in-state shows since then, however, most notably his near-annual appearances at the Light of Day concert in Asbury Park, and a surprise two-hour offering with Joe Grushecky at Wonder Bar in July.
But since the 66-year-old Jersey icon’s tour kicks off the same night as Light of Day – he will be in Pittsburgh, not Asbury Park Jan. 16 – ticket holders for the already sold-out Paramount Theatre show will be sorely disappointed.
The Friday tour announcement accompanies the release of Springsteen’s “The Ties That Bind: ‘The River’ Collection” box set, also available Friday.
