Jerry Lewis Collapses, Jerry Lewis collapsed and was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night after a diabetic scare. The comedian was at the Waldorf Astoria to present Tom Cruise with the Friars Club award, when his blood sugar dropped causing him to do the same. In what was certainly a scary few minutes, Lewis was quickly taken to a nearby hospital and treated.

According to the New York Post, reps for Lewis could not be reached. He is expected to be okay but no further details about his condition have been confirmed. Sources say that Lewis was released from the hospital shortly after he arrived and was resting at his hotel.

Jerry Lewis collapsing definitely had people very worried. The 86-year-old funnyman has not been in the best health and over the past few years he seems to be getting worse. Naturally this is to be expected since he is getting older but his fans are very worried about him. A drop in blood sugar is common amongst people who have diabetes (as Lewis does) and while it can be very serious, it usually isn’t life-threatening if rectified in a timely manner.
