Carrie Bradshaw Townhouse, The West Village brownstone house which starred as Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in S-EX- And The City sold for an impressive $9.85 million.
For any S-EX- and The City devotee, it’s a compulsory pilgrimage the first time they visit Manhattan. So the new owners of number 64 Perry Street, New York, had better get used to hoards of gawkers gazing up at their first floor window.
The five-bedroom brownstone townhouse in the city’s trendy West Village district where Carrie Bradshaw wrote her column, stashed her enviable wardrobe, and fell in and out of love (and bed) with Mr Big, Berger, Aidan, Aleksandr Petrovsky and countless others has been sold for £6.1 million according to The New York Observer .
Originally listed with Sotheby’s in March for £5.96 million, perhaps the sprinkling of stardust helped push the price over the odds.
The exterior of 64 Perry Street featured the first three seasons of the hit HBO series about four girlfriends navigating the dating scene in New York, before filming moved just one door down to number 66 Perry Street – a more ornate and well tended residence – for the remaining three seasons and two movies.
