Student Misses Graduation Mistakenly Arrest, A seventeen-year-old honor student from Baltimore City spent the weekend in jail in Baltimore City and missed her graduation – and it was all a mistake.Prosecutors said they dropped the case against Tiarra Brown, after realizing she was not involved in a crime. The case appears to be a case of mistaken identity.

This alone would be any parent or family’s nightmare, having their seventeen-year-old locked up in the Baltimore City Detention Center over the weekend. Now, comes the bitter sweet part of this story. Tiarra, while in detention, missed her graduation from high school.

The family had been anticipating this upcoming milestone that Tiarra had worked so hard to accomplish. According to her parents, Tiarra had worked, as well as maintaining honor roll grades, in order to pay for her graduation costs.

A warrant was issued for Tiarra Brown and she was charged with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment. She was held without bail pending arraingment after police arrested her Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Tiarra Brown was arrested by police during graduation practice at Casa Academy in Southwest Baltimore.

This came as a shock to Tiarra and her family. She had never been in trouble before, had a scholarship for her academic achievements and was anticipating begining college courses on June 21, 2012.

All that effort and she missed her graduation due to a mix-up. So how does a mix-up like this happen?

The warrant was issued in connection with the May 6, 2012 stabbing of a woman outside the Half Mile Track nightclub. This nightclub is located on Frederick Avenue near Collins Avenue. According to court documents the stabbing occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on May 6, 2012.

Baltimore City Police opened an investigation of this stabbing. Shortly after the May 6, 2012 stabbing and investigation by police, an arrest was made of another female in connection with this crime. (Examiner)
