Stepdad Shoots Boyfriend?

Stepdad Shoots Boyfriend?, A 16-year-old boy was shot at his girlfriend’s Apopka home after being confronted by her stepfather and his friend, both of whom had shotguns, according to deputies.
The teen was grazed in the head in the shooting, which occurred Sunday afternoon at 59 E. 13th Street.
“The 16-year-old boy comes over to the house to visit the girlfriend, who lives there,” Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Paul Hopkins said. “The father and the boyfriend don’t get along very well, so the father of the girlfriend answers the door with a shotgun in his hand.”
Hopkins said the boy grabbed the barrel of the shotgun held by the stepfather, 50-year-old Alvin Knight, and was shot after the teen pointed the gun at his own face to show that he wasn’t scared of Knight.
“A gun’s not going to go off unless somebody pulls the trigger,” Jones said. “Even though the child grabbed the barrel of the gun, that man had to have his finger on the trigger for that gun to go off.”
The teenager was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Knight was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm. He was combative as he was taken into custody, unleashing a profanity-laced tirade as officers put him into a cruiser.
Knight was taken to jail and was later released after posting bond.
