Singer’s sexy comeback: Katharine Mcphee Comeback Lips

Singer’s sexy comeback: Katharine Mcphee Comeback Lips, It’s a post-Scorpion world, and Katharine McPhee wants you to eat cherry pie with her in it. The former American Idol finalist turned Marilyn Monroe turned interpersonally savvy waitress (on CBS’s Scorpion) is now returning to her musician roots, releasing the first single off of her fourth studio album, Hysteria (due July 21).
“Lick My Lips” arrives just in time for summer playlist creation, and it bubbles with a catchy hook that should serve you well with an equal 1:1 tanning-to-party ratio. Written by Florence + the Machine member Isabella Summers, McPhee’s comeback tune also fits in with the recent onslaught of sounds-like-the-’80s thumpers, squeezed in between Walk the Moon, Brandon Flowers, Miami Horror and Haim.
The candy-coated video itself is all sorts of random-it’s a little bit Grease meets one of those art deco museum installations where an artist photographs a big picture of food and you’re supposed to see it as a deep commentary on American consumer culture. Then again, the song is a not-so-subtle ode to kissing and salivary flavor exchange, so nobody’s reinventing the wheel here.
There’s also some AstroTurf, a few jazzy bar stools, a lady eating a burger on the hood of a car, a tiny motorcycle and a gigantic comb.
