Raising prices again: Starbucks Raises Prices, Your morning cup of coffee just got even pricier! Starbucks announced on Tuesday, July 7, that it is raising the cost of its signature beverages between 5 and 20 cents.
A spokesperson for the company noted that none of the food prices would be increasing. All brewed coffees will go up by 10 cents in most areas of the country, bringing the cost of a venti cup to $2.45 in most U.S. stores.
In a statement from the Seattle-based company, Starbucks said it evaluates its prices to “balance the need to run our business profitably while continuing to provide value to our loyal customers and to attract new customers.”
The company previously raised its prices about a year ago.
This news comes after Starbucks also announced that its latest addition, the Cold Brew iced coffee, will be released as a core menu item in stores across the country.
The iced drink is different from basic iced coffee as it is not made with heat and instead seeps coffee grounds in cold water for 20 hours to create a sweeter beverage.
