Psychosis
Psychosis, (UKPA) – A drug addict killed his grandmother in north London after his cocaine addiction made him paranoid, the Old Bailey has heard.
Jack stabbed and battered Doris Langlands Langlands, 83, to death in her kitchen.
I then tried to blame the “brutal and unrestrained attack” on his grandmother, others, jurors heard. Langlands, 27, denies murdering Mrs Langlands on April 3 last year, alleging manslaughter through diminished responsibility.
He told doctors he had spent the first part of the day with her other grandmother, Millie Walton.
Andrew Edis QC, processing, Langlands said said, “Your body language conveys the knowledge that she wanted to kill Doris.”
Mr Edis said Langland’s strike was an “alarming” that has “scrounged” between £ 15,000 and £ 30,000 of Mrs Langlands. The accusation was that he had “acted reasonably” before and after death.
He closed the back door to the house of Mrs. Langlands in Green Dragon Lane, Winchmore Hill, north London, and was arrested in Peterborough a few days later.
Ms. Walton told the court he had seen the football with her during the afternoon before asking for money for a taxi.
She said there was a “normal” conversation with her and not discusses Mrs Langlands. Then let him in the early hours of the morning when he stood shivering without shelter.
Langlands said Mrs. Walton lived in Florida, United States, for five years before returning to the UK in 2008, after he assaulted his wife. He lived with Doris Langlands, who was known as a point, but went to live in a caravan of family in Aguas Tallington, Lincolnshire. The court was told Langlands realized what happened that suggested he suffered from paranoid psychosis induced by cocaine abuse.
