Prince Harry’s new look: Prince Harry Beard
Published: August 14, 2015
Prince Harry’s new look: Prince Harry Beard, The most notable happening in December 2013-back when Princess Charlotte had not yet been born and Prince George had not yet been acquainted with Crocs-was, to be sure, Prince Harry’s decision to grow a beard . . . a beard we deemed, at the time, “grizzly, red and perfect” (we stand by all three of these adjectives now, about 18 months later). Harry’s beard emerged during his weeks-long Antarctic adventure that month, as he endured a trek (alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Dominic West, and others) for his Walking with the Wounded charity.
The beard did not last long; he shaved it off shortly after returning to the U.K., reportedly due to the Queen’s disapproval with Harry’s adventures in facial hair. WELL . . . WHADDYA KNOW. Harry leaves the country for an extended period of time once again-this time for a three-month long stay in Africa, to meet with various animal wildlife charities and organizations-and TS-EX- BEARD RETURNS. When the prince is away, the hair follicles will play. (We should be banned from ever writing a word about any member of the royal family ever again for that sentence.)
Harry was photographed Wednesday during a visit at the African Conservation Experience’s Khulula Care for Wild, a center focused on care for orphaned rhinos. And this is the best P.R. the organization could have hoped for, as Harry debuted this new beard on its premises. Us Weekly notes, wisely, that “this look is a bit of a treat, especially for the facial hair lovers out there.” We . . . are hesitant to make any such claims just yet, though. These photos were taken at long range. The beard almost, if you squint, looks like it could just be an orange-y shadow from the sun, instilling just enough fear in us that the beard is not quite as emphatic, as not here to mess around, as the 2013 version. We are hopeful, but we are also, as we wait patiently for clearer pictures, trying to be cautious.
