Nita Moseley: Teen Murder Charge, La Marque police say a 14-year-old boy is charged with first degree murder after his mom’s death over the weekend.
The body of Nita Moseley, 33, was found by a neighbor in her home on Saturday.
Her son was missing but later found unharmed, and he has since been charged in Moseley’s murder.
Officials with the Galveston County Medical Examiner have yet to release an official cause of death. Further details about the case have not yet been released.
Authorities responded to a call in the 2800 block of Fannin Street in La Marque where the woman’s body was found. Officials believe the woman had been deceased for several days.
Officials said Moseley’s teenage son went missing not long after her body was found, and a 2014 black Nissan Maxima was also missing. Police reported the car, which the mom was using on loan from a friend, to be stolen at the time
“She did any and everything for her son,” said a neighbor and friend who goes by Austin. “They got along great. Her son was a good student.”
A friend of the victim said she was four months pregnant.
Neighbors say the teen suspect was a student at La Marque High School. He remains in custody at the Galveston County Juvenile Detention Center.
