MVP’s mother stuns: Stephen Curry Mom Sonya, There’s at least one person on the planet who can contain Stephen Curry – his daughter. Curry’s 2-year-old daughter, Riley, stole the spotlight from the Golden State Warriors star and NBA MVP during his news conference after Tuesday night’s 110-106 victory over the Houston Rockets.
That’s just after Stephen Curry’s incredibly youthful mother Sonya Curry, 48, distracted reporters at the game and had fans joking on social media that they wanted to see her birth certificate, reported The Sun Times.
‘Sonya Curry the finest 48 year old on the planet,’ tweeted Bcalhoun on Twitter, joining others in their admiration for the former pro volleyball player, who’s husband is Dell Curry – an ex-NBA star.
Riley, who has a personality beyond her years, left behind equally beautiful mother Ayesha Alexander in the crowd when she crawled through the table skirt where Curry was having his interview. Curry later scooped his daughter up onto is lap.
Riley waved to reporters, let out a big yawn, and interrupted Curry a couple of times.
At one point, she muttered a few words and Curry told her to ‘hold on a second, OK?’ She replied, ‘Be quiet daddy,’ drawing laughs from the room.
Curry smiled and shook his head, telling reporters his daughter is usually more reserved.
‘She’s so funny,’ Curry said.
Curry and Alexander are expecting a second child in July so they may be in for double trouble.
Despite being overshadowed, Curry’s success in the game did not go unnoticed. Curry had 34 points, six rebounds and five assists in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals.
