‘Mother’ star breaks leg: Cobie Smulders Broken Leg, Cobie Smulders reportedly won’t be starring alongside Kerry Washington in HBO’s Anita Hill film, as she’s broken her leg.
The How I Met Your Mother actress was due to star alongside Kerry Washington in HBO’s upcoming Anita Hill film, Confirmation, but according to Us Weekly, she’ll have to be recast.
And while the injury is serious enough to keep her out of work, the 33-year-old reportedly isn’t even sure how it happened.
“She said her leg started hurting so she had it checked out,” an insider explained to the magazine, adding she was due to start filming this week. “And that she must’ve done something to it without realising sometime earlier.”
Cobie had been cast in the role of Harriet Grant and there’s no news as to who might replace her.
The TV drama hasn’t been given a release date yet, but Scandal’s Kerry stars as Anita, while Jennifer Hudson, Eric Stonestreet and Greg Kinnear also feature.
It will focus on Judge Clarence Thomas, who was accused by Anita of sexual harassment in 1991, calling his nomination to the US Supreme Court into question.
Kerry is also executive producing the project and shared how thrilled she is by posting images of herself in costume as Anita on Instagram.
“Dear @HBO, Thank you for the profound opportunity of getting to inhabit Anita Hill and help tell this story! Yours Truly, K-Dub (aka super excited Exec Producer) #Confirmation (sic),” she wrote.
