Mom killed saving son: Elsa Delplace Paris Attacks, The mother and grandmother of a five-year-old boy died protecting him from the bullets of the men who stormed the Bataclan concert hall on Friday.
Elsa Delplace, 35, and her mother Patricia San Martin, 61, died after flinging themselves over five-year-old Louis to protect him from gunfire inside the Bataclan Concert Hall.
Louis survived the attack and was later found covered in blood between their bodies.
‘Elsa Delplace and her mother Patricia died on Friday under a hail of bullets inside Bataclan,’ Ms Delplace’s friend Sihem Souid wrote in Le Point.
‘Her son Louis, her ray of sunshine, was with them. Louis was found in Vincennes hospital, distraught and covered in his mother’s blood who had protected him from the bullets.
‘Elsa was a joyous person who always had a smile on her lips, even at difficult times. She always cared about the welfare of others. She was involved in the voluntary, cultural and artistic worlds. She played the cello brilliantly.’
At least 89 people died during the Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Bataclan, and hundreds more were injured.
French police launched a dawn raid on an apartment in Saint-Denis this morning where the alleged brains of the operation, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was hiding.
