Jared Allen Starting Super Bowl

Jared Allen Starting Super Bowl, Despite their recent injuries, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis and defensive end Jared Allen will start in Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Broncos, coach Ron Rivera said.
Chatting with Carolina media on a quick conference call Friday afternoon, Rivera had just one caveat.
“The only last hurdle is the conversation I have to have with the doctors, just to make sure they’re feeling comfortable, but I’d be surprised if it was anything different,” Rivera said.
“I was real pleased with what we got from both those guys. I’m excited about having them back on the football field.”
Davis and Allen began pledging to play in their first career Super Bowls moments after the NFC Championship Game. Davis broke his right arm against the Cardinals, a week after Allen broke a bone in his foot.
The Panthers will keep their standard Saturday schedule – meetings and a walk-through in the morning, but then they’ll head over to Levi’s Stadium for a team picture and to get acclimated to the surroundings.
According to Rivera, his players had no violations of their self-imposed curfew throughout the week, and they balanced enjoying the moment with work.
“One minute, we’re sitting there and they’re enjoying themselves – they’re doing the media, they’re doing their other little things – and then the next minute, we’re in the meetings rooms, we’re on the practice field and they’re focusing in on the things that we need to do.
“I thought they came out and practiced with a tremendous amount of energy today, which I know you guys will hear about.”
Energy? Nah …
