J.Lo was too ‘scantily dressed’?: Jennifer Lopez Concert Backlash

J.Lo was too ‘scantily dressed’?: Jennifer Lopez Concert Backlash, Jennifer Lopez performed a televised concert in Morocco, and is receiving backlash following her show. According to USA Today, Lopez is getting a lot of criticism for her outfits, which some feel were just too revealing for some viewers.
The 45-year-old mother of two appeared at the Mawazine Festival in Rabat, Morocco, on May 29, where she sang and danced for 160,000 people. And while many people never complain when JLo is shaking her thang, her suggestive dance moves and her barely-there outfits caused outrage among several politicians. Said politicians have taken action after being completely flabbergasted by Lopez’s sex appeal.
Calling the performance a “a breach of public decency,” a lawsuit has been filed against JLo, and against her concert promoter.
Jennifer Lopez’s concert backlash may not result in much. The report indicates that it is highly unlikely that JLo will be convicted in this case. However, if for some reason she is, she could find herself spending up to two years in a Moroccan prison.
According to the Canada Journal, Lopez has performed in Morocco before, but this particular concert was televised, and that is why it was such an issue.
Those who have a problem with Lopez’s performance have asked that minister of communications Mustapha Khalifi resign from his post. While he is not expected to resign, he seems to agree that the concert was far too risque for television.
He reportedly tweeted that the concert was “unacceptable and goes against broadcasting law.” He is supposed to be scheduling a meeting with the network’s ethics committee to get this all figured out.
The Jennifer Lopez concert backlash aside, things are going really well for the singer. She recently inked a deal with Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas where she will be performing a live show several nights a week starting in the new year. Her residency will be at the Axis Theater where Britney Spears has been performing for the past several months. Thousands of people are expected to flock to Vegas to see JLo’s show… but needless to say there won’t be many (if any) Moroccan politicians in the crowd.
