India Urged To Take Solid Steps For Kashmir Solution, occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Firdous Ahmad Shah has urged India to give up its rigid stance on the Kashmir dispute and take solid steps towards its peaceful settlement in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.Firdous Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the cancellation of proposed foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan by India had proved that New Delhi was not serious in resolving the lingering dispute and only wanted to kill the time.
He said that the Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute pending with the United Nations for the last several decades. He maintained that the Kashmiris were basic party to the dispute and their inclusion in the talks process between Pakistan and India was imperative for its resolution.
Firdous Ahmad Shah said durable peace in the South Asia was linked to the settlement of the lingering dispute. He urged the United Nations to implement its Kashmir resolutions and impress upon India to give the people of Jammu and Kashmir their inalienable to self-determination.
