‘Housewives’ star quitting?: Housewives Heather Quitting, According to a new report Heather Thomson is done being a Housewife. Holla! Heather has been having a rough season on Real Housewives Of New York; her storyline has been dominated by petty feuds and background drama, and last night was essentially the end of her friendship with Luann de Lesseps.
It comes as no surprise that Heather may be over playing the Bravo game and won’t be re-singing a contract next season. A source close to Heather reveals she is leaving the show after three seasons to focus on family, REAL friends (instead of reality TV ones) and expanding her YummieTummie empire.
“She wants to focus full-time on her business, Yummie, her family, and expanding into the health and nutrition arena,” says the insider. The source adds that Heather got a bad rap this season in the storyline department. She filmed a lot – including a ton of work she does with the Wounded Warrior Project and expanding her Yummie business, but most of it was left on the editing room floor in favor of Skinnygirl feuds. And with 8 Housewives it’s just too many to pay substantial interest to what each lady has going on.
Heather’s frustration is due to her role on the show drastically changing. With Heather coming across as a nagging harridan sidepiece instead of a key-player thanks to Bethenny Frankel and Luann; she feels the show has negatively impacted her life. “The cons of doing the show far outweigh the pros at this point, and what the show has become don’t fit what she wants to be doing,” the source tells Us Weekly.
“She did the show to promote her business and later to be with her best friend, Carole Radziwill, and didn’t expect it to end up with fighting with Bethenny and Sonja [Morgan] and the rest edited out,” the insider explains of Heather’s frustration with Bravo. “It devolved into ridiculous fights over the ridiculous antics of some unstable women.”
It seems Heather was already over RHONY last season, but decided to give it one more go, which unfortunately led to more false promises about how she’d be portrayed and what her storyline would be. “It is no longer a good fit with where she sees her life going so she is making the choice to walk away,” reveals the source.
Well, I would miss Heather and I think the cast this season was amazing. I loved that each and every woman contributed something really diverse, but I do agree that with 8 women every event dissolves into drama and fights, and it doesn’t give enough time to cover the full breadth of the ladies’ personal lives, unfortunately.
