Harsh words for Sheen: Burt Reynolds Charlie Sheen, Veteran actor Burt Reynolds has sparked a storm by confessing he has no sympathy for Charlie Sheen over his HIV diagnosis, insisting the Hollywood wild man “deserved it.”
The Deliverance star is close pals with the former “Two and a Half Men” actor’s father Martin Sheen and revealed his heart went out to his friend when he heard the news.
However, he is adamant he does not feel sorry for Charlie himself because the star was asking for trouble by taking drugs and bedding hundreds of women, including porn stars and prostitutes.
In an interview for U.K. talk show “Loose Women,” which aired on Tuesday, Burt was asked about the scandal that has rocked Hollywood and he replied, “His father is a very, very decent man, and a dear friend of mine. I feel bad for him. But Charlie, I don’t feel bad for him. He’s getting what he deserves. If you’re going to misbehave like that then they’re gonna get you.”
Asked again if has any sympathy for the actor at all, he replied, “For Charlie, no. No, he deserved it. He misbehaved badly. Very badly. But you know, when you’re that age it’s tough. All those things are coming at you and it’s difficult.”
Charlie Sheen revealed last month that he was diagnosed with HIV in 2011 after suffering headaches and night sweats. He admitted he decided to speak out after blackmailers extorted him out of “millions” to keep his devastating health news a secret.
