Grateful Doe: 20-Year-Old Mystery Solved

Grateful Doe: 20-Year-Old Mystery Solved, Investigators say they have identified a teen, known as “Grateful Doe,” decades after he was killed in a crash on a Virginia highway.
WTVR reported that Jason Callahan was the teen killed in a wreck in June of 1995.
Callahan had left his home in Myrtle Beach to follow the band “The Grateful Dead” on tour.
Officials found his body at the scene of a crash in Emporia, Va. He didn’t have any identification on him, only a pair of Grateful Dead concert tickets.
Callahan’s body went unclaimed for years — then, earlier in 2015, his mother filed a missing person’s report.
Myrtle Beach Police then collected DNA samples in Virgina — that DNA proved that the remains belonged to Callahan.
On a Facebook page dedicated to finding the identity of “Grateful Doe,” organizers posted the good news.
“Because of everyone here this man will finally make his way home!” the post reads. “On another note I want this story to do so much more I really pray that this story gives an important lesson to reporting your missing loved ones or even trying to check up on them if you haven’t had contact in years.”
