Gentleman Of The Road, Mumford & Sons have added a handful of domestic dates dubbed “Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers” to their overseas summer tour plans ahead of the September release of their sophomore set.

The roots-rock quartet will finish up an in-progress European run, which continues tonight (5/30) in Cardiff, United Kingdom. The latest addition includes four markets — Portland, ME; Bristol, VA/TN; Dixon, IL; and Monterey, CA — with a varying lineup at each stop. Along with the music, the “Stopovers” will also feature smaller events involving local businesses, venues and people, according to a press release.

“We’re keen to promote the town’s local businesses,” the outfit explained in a press release, “and we’ll be using the local bars and venues for after-show parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular. There will be a host of our friends playing too, and the vibe falls somewhere between ‘travelling Victorian circus’ and ‘Victorian travelling circus’.”

Tickets for each of the four events will be $69, including service fees. On-sales begin Friday (6/1) via the band’s website, and tickets include a digital compilation of performances taken from the road trip, according to a press release.

Last year, the British rockers embarked on the “Railroad Revival Tour” alongside Old Crow Medicine Show and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, which had the bands traveling from one U.S. city to the other aboard their own Amtrak train.

Mumford & Sons will release their long-awaited second studio set Sept. 24, according to a May 28 interview with a Belgian radio station backstage at the Pinkpop Festival. (SoundSpike)
