Sergio Hernandez, 46, required surgery on his left leg after the alligator bit him on his thigh while Hernandez was removing hyacinths from a pond at a central Florida attraction. Hernandez is employed by the activity center, Forever Florida, located near Kenansville. Kenansville is about 60 miles south of Orlando.

Forever Florida boasts wildlife, in addition to activities such as zip-lining, horseback riding and camping, but the alligator didn’t belong to the facility, according to WKMG.
