Feast for homeless: Cancelled Wedding Homeless, An abruptly canceled wedding in Sacramento, ended up providing an opportunity for one family to give the city’s homeless population a fantastic meal.
When the groom-to-be called off the wedding, deposits for the $35,000 event had already been paid, the Associated Press reports. So, the bride’s family decided to open the wedding’s banquet hall to about 90 homeless people Saturday.
“Even though my husband and I were feeling very sad for our daughter, it was heartwarming to see so many people be there and enjoy a meal,” the bride’s mother Kari Duane told the AP.
On the menu were entrees from the Citizen Hotel’s four-star restaurant, including gnocchi, salmon and tri-tip.
As far as the non-refundable honeymoon, mom Kari and daughter Quinn headed off to Belize on Sunday.
