Duggar daughter moving abroad: Jill Duggar Dillard Mission

Duggar daughter moving abroad: Jill Duggar Dillard Mission, Jill (Duggar) Dillard, husband Derick and young son Israel David are going abroad in July on a long-term mission trip, Derick announced on their website.
“God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip,” Derick wrote.
“Earlier this year God brought about an opportunity much earlier than either of us was expecting,” he added.
Derick, 26, declined to announce the location of their ministry, but said that he and Jill, 24, had been discussing, and praying on, this for several months.
The 19 Kids and Counting couple informed their family earlier this year; and in May, Derick informed Walmart, his employer.
They will begin their “new endeavor” in July, Derick wrote.
It’s been a little more than five weeks since the news first broke that the Duggars’ eldest son, Josh, had been investigated for molesting five girls when he was a minor. Jill and sister Jessa (Duggar) Seewald subsequently came forward as two of the victims, and said they had forgiven their brother and “moved on” as a family.
Derick explained in the announcement that he and Jill, who were married in June 2014, have “always” wanted to serve others through ministry, “by whatever means that might be.”
“We have a deep love and care for all of the world and a real passion for those in the nations, as many have even seen in the early stages of our relationship, and our hope is that all peoples of the world would come to repentance and put their hope in the Lord, Jesus Christ,” Derick wrote.
The post also includes a link where supporters can donate to their family ministry.
The possibility of an international trip as a young family – the Dillards welcomed their son in April – was its own test of faith, Derrick wrote, and they sought much Godly counsel.
“Ultimately, in life there is nothing more important than simply loving, following and obeying our Creator,” Derick wrote.
“We don’t expect this new adventure to always be easy, but God never promised that following Him wouldn’t have its challenges,” he continued. “We are confident in knowing that there is no better place to be than in the center of God’s will for our lives.
“We look forward to this adventure and the joy of serving Him in this new way. We wanted to share this with you and ask for your prayers as our family makes this transition.”
