Duchess Kate’s first appearance: Kate First Appearance Charlotte, Kate Middleton is very much in mommy mode right now, but that doesn’t mean she’s slacking on her royal duties!

On Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge will make her first official public appearance since giving birth to Princess Charlotte when she attends the Trooping the Colour ceremony—also known as Queen Elizabeth II’s Birthday Parade! (The queen actually celebrated her 89th birthday on Apr. 21, but it’s tradition to celebrate the monarch’s birthday with a summertime parade.)

Trooping the Colour is an annual event performed by regiments of the British and Commonwealth army and held on Horse Guards Parade. The queen and Prince Philip, riding in the queen’s carriage, will travel down The Mall from Buckingham Palace as part of a royal procession. In the No. 1 barouche will be Kate, Prince Harry and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will be in the No. 2. barouche.

And what about Prince Charles and Prince William? The future kings, along with Princess Anne, will be riding horses as part of the procession. Charles, William and Anne are riding horses named George, Wellesley and Elizabeth, respectively.

Keeping in line with tradition, Queen Elizabeth II will be greeted with a royal salute, and she will also carry out an inspection of her troops.

Sadly, the palace didn’t name Prince George or his baby sister as attendees at the ceremony, so it’s very doubtful either of them will make an appearance. Make sure your calendar is marked, though, because Charlotte’s christening will take place July 5 at at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Uncle Harry probably won’t be able to attend the ceremony, but the rest of the royal gang—Georgie included!—are expected to be there.
