Drive By Shooting In Rochester, Police say a gunman shot into a crowd after a basketball game outside of a Boys & Girls Club in Rochester, killing three people and wounding four others.
The drive-by shooting happened late Wednesday on Genesee St. in Rochester. Police say there was no problem at the club before the shooting.
Officials have not yet released the names of the victims. Police say the injured, all males in their 20s, have gunshot wounds that don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren told reporters at a press conference held Thursday morning that police are working overtime to find out who committed the crime and she says they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Family members say Raekwon Manigault is one of the men killed. His mother says “Ray-Ray”, as he was known, was 19 years old and was a great kid. His father told News 4’s Brittni Smallwood the shooter should surrender, “It was a senseless killing, it’s sad. You hurt a lot of people, whoever you are, you hurt a whole lot of people, you truly did. You need to just surrender.”

News 4 has also learned from family members that one of the victims killed was 17 year-old Jonah Barley.
A large crowd gathered near the scene of the shooting early Thursday. Emotions ran high as family and friends of the victims consoled each other.
Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli says he’s urging anyone in the community with information about the shooting to come forward. He says the investigation is a top priority.
