Disney star now Santa’s helper: Steven Anthony Lawrence Santa, Fans of the Disney series Even Stevens have been thrilled to discover one of the show’s beloved characters helping out Santa Claus this holiday season.
Steven Anthony Lawrence, who had a recurring role as Bernard ‘Beans’ Aranguren from 2001 to 2003, was spotted working as Santa’s Little Helper at a shopping center in Northern California.
The former child star, now 25, has now become a social media star as shoppers post pics of themselves with him online.
Lawrence co-starred in the show about the sibling rivalry between the youngest members of the Stevens family with Shia LaBeouf and Christy Romano, who played Louis and Ren Stevens.
He played Beans, the family’s bacon-loving next door neighbor.
Lawrence went on to have roles in the 2003 movies Dr. Seuss’ The Hat In The Cat and Cheaper By The Dozen, and 2005’s Kicking And Screaming.
Since then he’s been working mainly in commercials, he told The Huffington Post this past February, and teaching at colleges including University Of Southern California and University Of California, Berkeley.
But, he said, he does still get recognized by Even Stevens fans on a regular nasis and couldn’t quite get his head around that.
‘It’s really weird. I feel like I’ve changed so much when I look in the mirror. I don’t know how people even barely recognize me,’ he told The Huffington Post.
‘But I’ll be walking down the street and people drive by for two seconds and automatically they’ll go, ‘Oh, my God! You’re Beans! Ahhh!’ God, even I would have to at least do a double-take.’
