“An American Family” could not really live up to its creator’s intention to strip nked for a modern home, if the break stiff on camera is still quite shocking. The PBS series is especially memorable to revolutionize television, not just by opening the way for reality television like “The Osbournes” and “Jersey Shore” and sitcoms mockumentary like “Modern Family” and “Parks and recreation. ”
