Crushed by LeBron: Ellie Day LeBron, After PGA golfer Jason Day’s wife was injured in a courtside collision with LeBron James when the Cleveland Cavaliers star was racing for a loose ball Thursday, Ellie Day was released from the hospital on Friday, and has suffered from what the AP reports, via Day’s agent, as “concussion symptoms.” Also through her husband’s agent, Ellie released a statement (also via the AP) that she’s not holding any ill-will toward the Cavaliers or James.
Jason Day’s agent later said in a statement that she was suffering from concussion symptoms and resting comfortably. Bud Martin added that Ellie Day had no hard feelings toward James, quoting her as saying, “He was just doing his job. Go Cavs.”
James was understandably upset with the incident, wishing Day well and tweeting at her to follow up.
Ellie Day I hope you’re doing okay! My apologies! Hope u guys come back to another game soon. Love LJ!

It’s clearly great news to hear that Ellie is recovering, and James’ concern is apt, but this incident will likely spark commentary and discussion on the safety of courtside seat availability at NBA games. Here’s what James told reporters after the game:
“It’s a great experience for our fans,” James said. “I mean, that doesn’t happen much. It’s unfortunate it happened tonight, but that doesn’t happen much. Our fans are why our game is so great. Sitting courtside, it’s all part of the game. It’s pretty cool. If I was a fan, which I am a fan of the game, but, I would love to sit courtside and watch games.”
