CEO’s scary landing: CEO Emergency Landing, The pilot of the plane was Bill Simon, 56, the former CEO with Walmart U.S.
The two other passengers on board the aircraft were Cliff Slincard, 59, and Maurice Willis, 47.
Police said all three survived the crash with minor injuries.
A pickup truck hit the plane after it crashed, according to police.
The driver of the pickup truck was 30-year-old Shakemia Harris.
Harris, whose children were in the car, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Authorities said the private plane was traveling from Bentonville to Waco, Texas, when it experienced oil pressure problems and was forced to make an emergency landing, according to authorities.
The plane, a Cirrus SR-22, is a single-engine propeller plane.
The aircraft has a parachute system that was released as the plane was going down.
Police said the pilot was trying to land at Drake Field prior to the crash.
MLK Boulevard was closed from Razorback Road to Hill Avenue for several hours following the crash while crews waited for investigators to arrive on scene.
School officials with Fayetteville changed plans for students to be picked up at Lot 56 at the University of Arkansas campus Tuesday afternoon.
