Candice Swanepoel School BullyingCandice Swanepoel School Bullying, We hate to patronise with an ‘I told you so’, but less than two months ago, we ran a story on how model Candice Swanepoel – fresh from clocking up numerous catwalk shows and scoring a Prabal Gurung campaign – had the fashion world well and truly at her feet. Now, the South African beauty has landed a solo cover for GQ .

Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old, who is “on staff” at American lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret as one of its body-beautiful angels, graces the men’s magazine in an array of bikinis, barely-there briefs and swimsuits.

Nicknamed “Perfection”, Candice (pronounced Can-diss) dispenses all the requisite, innocently-intended one-liners so many of her breed excel at giving out to journalists, such as: “At school I got teased because I was so thin and awkward-looking” and on growing up on a dairy farm: “It was such a pure, beautiful place to grow up, I helped the cows give birth”.

Explaining her foray into modelling, she says: “I would say to my mum, ‘the girls at school are teasing me, but I look like those girls on TV’. A year later, someone took me to an agency and that’s it.”

To drive the men reading said article into an even more helpless frenzy, she admits to regularly hanging out with her Victoria’s Secret colleagues Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Miranda Kerr and Erin Heatherton because: “we live a very different life that not many people can understand” – presumably that means watching films while sipping coconut water and feasting out on edamame beans.
