Cancer returns: Vivian Campbell Hodgkins, Vivian Campbell Hodgkins – Guitarist, Vivian Campbell, a member of the band Def Leppard, announced that his cancer has returned. The artist, who has been battling Hodgkin’s disease since 2013, made the announcement on his Facebook page. I’m still working on schedules for medical treatments, I hope to see you soon.
“I’m saddened by the fact that my cancer has returned. However, I’m beyond consolation that it’s return will prevent me from being able to do my job for a while. I’m still working on a schedule of treatment with my doctors, but I will see you all very soon. My apologies,” Campbell posted on Facebook.
Earlier this year, Campbell commented that he was happy because it seemed that the cancer cells were gone: “I personally feel pretty good about this right now. I feel that it’s gone. But, like I said, you never really know, and you’ve gotta keep your eye on it. If it’s gonna come back, it’s gonna come back in the next couple of years. But hopefully not, you know?!”
For now, the guitarist can not rejoin the band. He will be replaced temporarily by Steven Brown of Trixter. Currently, Def Leppard are touring the United States. On June 23 they will play in Tampa, Florida.
