Belgium Stage Collapse: Pukkelpop Festival, At least two people were killed during the music festival Pukkelpop in Belgium after a sudden storm caused two stages of collapse, reports say.

Television images of the scene, about 65 kilometers (40 miles) east of Brussels, showed stage rigging fell and people scrambling for cover.

The first reports in the Belgian media reported that four people were killed.

Approximately 60,000 people were considered during the event, one of the largest outdoor festivals in Europe.

The mayor of the city of Hasselt, Pukkelpop that is being held, said 40 people were injured, reported the AP news.

Television images showed the soggy festival braces against strong winds. Fallen gantry and rigging can be seen on the ground.

Belgian media reported that trees were uprooted by the violent storm and hit the stage, bringing it down.

Some festivalgoers said the Twitter site a tornado had struck.

BBC Matthew Cole, in Brussels, said the storm swept through Belgium in the early evening, turning the dark sky.

Five people were killed last week at a festival in the U.S. state of Indiana where a stage collapsed in strong winds.
