Are Banks Open On Veterans Day, The post office is closed; students still in school and several companies offer great deals for Friday veterans. On we observe Veterans Day, a day dedicated to thanking the men and women who served in the military. Congress established the national holiday on June 4, 1926. A special day like Friday means many schools will be closed and some local restaurants offer discounts to veterans.

City offices and Blair Memorial Library are already closed on Friday.
Post U. S. Clawson will be closed.
Most banks will be closed to observe the holiday.
Clawson schools are still in session.
Special discounts
Here are some restaurants and shops near Clawson that offer specials for veterans on Friday.

Clawson Grill will offer 10 percent discount on all purchases for veterans.

Applebees (1275 W. 14 Mile Road in Madison Heights.) – Veterans and active duty military can eat free from a limited menu.

Outback Steakhouse (1515 W. 14 Mile Road in Madison Heights.) – Veterans and active duty military is a Bloomin Onion and free soft drink.

T.G.I. Friday (591 W. Big Beaver in Troy) – The restaurant has a buy one, get one free special for veterans 11 to 14 November.

Hooters (2950 Rochester Road. In Troy) All veterans and active military can eat for free. There will be a special menu for the feast with veteran’s free inputs.

Home Depot (660 W. 12 Mile Road in Madison Heights.) – The store will offer a discount of 10 percent for veterans.

Build-a-Bear Workshop (Somerset Mall) – The armed forces have received a discount of 20 percent in a single transaction from 11 to 15 November.
