Arbour Lake Murder

Arbour Lake Murder, Police have released the identity of a Calgary man killed in the Arbour Lake community on Thursday and are searching for at least three suspects in the case.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Arbour Lake Drive N.W. at around 5:40 p.m. over reports of multiple shots fired. One man was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Friday, police said family had identified the victim as 42-year-old Hui Xu, also known as Phillip Tu.
Investigators said the attack looked to be targeted, but wouldn’t confirm the victim was known to police.
Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm said witnesses identified a suspicious vehicle in the area at the time of the shooting. They believed it was a 2006 to 2009 light brown Pontiac Montana SV6 minivan with rear tinted windows.

Chisholm said police believe there was a driver and two masked passengers in the vehicle, who got out of the vehicle during the incident.
“The victim was leaving a residence and we believe at that point the shooting occurred,” said Chisholm.
Police don’t believe the death is related to the shooting death of 27-year-old David Quach in Monterey Park on Saturday, but said it’s too early to tell if it’s connected to any other incidents this year.
“We have some organized crime groups that we’ve spoken about before that they are active in the city at the moment,” said Chisholm.
“The common thread appears to be drugs, but that may not be the only contributing factor.”
Chisholm said police were “live to the fact” that the incident was a gang versus gang shooting, “linked to organized crime.”
An autopsy was underway Friday afternoon.
