Actor-comedian dies: Reynaldo Rey Dead, Reynaldo Rey, who was best known for his roles in Friday and White Men Can’t Jump died on Thursday at the age of 75.
The actor and comedian’s manager told the Associated Press that he died at a Los Angeles hospital from complications after suffering a stroke.
Rey, who started out as a teacher, began his showbiz career as a stand-up comedian, opening for his mentor Redd Foxx, before moving into films.
His other film credits include Harlem Nights and House Party 3, while he also appeared on TV shows including The Bernie Mac Show and Everybody Hates Chris.
His 227 costar Jackée Harry took to Twitter to pay tribute to Rey, writing “Rest in peach to my dear friend and 227 co-star, Reynaldo Rey. ‘Red’ will always hold a place in my heart.”
